We began our new unit "Finding the Source" on the Atom and Periodic Table . Students were introduce to the teaching task and that the end goal of the unit will be a scientific article. To begin the unit, each group was given 25 buttons and a grid to place them on. There was no "right" or "wrong" placement, but they had to able to explain and defend why the buttons were placed in their specific spots. They did a great job with their reasonings.
